I have tried reading carney’s speech, but find it hard work as don’t have a financial/economics background. However, intuition tells me that the idea that all these proposals might work has a touch of fantasy to it. In practice, there seem to be too many things that can go wrong with this virtual currency (freedoms aside). It seems unnecessary to me, unless it is to create a ‘locked in’ system. I am not optimistic about this.
